Whether you plan to use your next pickup truck for work, play, or both, you understandably need a well-equipped model that delivers the power and functionality you expect. The 2023 RAM 1500 is a strong contender with several options for trims, bed lengths, cab configurations, and powertrains available to meet most needs. The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado has also been a popular truck model over the years, so how do these trucks stack up to each other?

Performance

The 2023 RAM 1500 is available with gas, mild-hybrid, and diesel engines. These include a supercharged V8, 702-horsepower gas engine, and a turbo-diesel V6, 260-horsepower system. The other two options are a mild-hybrid V6, 305-horsepower engine, and a mild-hybrid V8, 395-horsepower option. The 2023 Silverado has four engines, including gas and diesel systems. The V6 turbo-diesel system produces 305 horsepower. The turbo four-cylinder, gas-powered engine offers 310 horsepower. The other two gas engines are V8s that generate 355 and 420 horsepower.

Appearance

The RAM 1500 has a distinctive style with a muscular hood and powerfully sculpted sides. Upper and lower LED light bars accent the rectangular headlights. These headlights surround the expansive grille that is styled with the RAM logo. On the other hand, the Chevy Silverado has a boxy front end with a tall, flat hood and a wide grille styled with extended, horizontal bars. The headlights have a Z-shaped accent, and the fender flares are crisply defined.

Features

If you choose the 2023 RAM 1500, you can take advantage of a fantastic selection of standard features at the base trim level. These are power door locks and windows, heated and power-adjusting side mirrors, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker sound system, a 5-inch touch display screen, and others.
