2021 Jeep Cherokee vs 2021 Chevy Equinox

Serving Gillette, WY

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee is a charismatic SUV that's adept at conquering trails. The Cherokee also has plenty of power with several optional engines with turbocharge. The 2021 Jeep Cherokee is an especially optimal choice with more standard safety technology on all trim levels. A few new variants are available for the Jeep Cherokee in 2021, including an all-new Lux and a unique trim called the 80th Anniversary. The Jeep Cherokee competes against the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox this year, but the Jeep has an overall more distinctive and appealing style than the Equinox. The Jeep's interior is also more equipped with technology, and its cabin is more upscale design. The Jeep also excels in the area of performance and power.

Performance

Three engines are available for the Jeep Cherokee in 2021. The base engine has no shortage of power, with a total horsepower of 180. Its torque reaches 171 LB-FT, and you'll get an automatic nine-speed transmission. While front-wheel drive comes standard with the engine, you have the option to get four-wheel drive as well. The second and third engines come with the Latitude Lux. For that trim, you can choose between a V6 or a turbo four-cylinder. The V6 engine creates up to 271 HP, and its torque output reaches 239 LB-FT. The turbo engine has the same power output and 295 LB-FT of torque. Only one engine is offered for all trim levels of the 2021 Chevy Equinox. They all get a 1.5L engine that has four cylinders for a total of 170 HP. Four-wheel drive is not available with the Equinox.

Interior

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee has a spacious cabin with plenty of legroom and headroom for people in both rows. Starting from the first Cherokee trim, you'll find many safety and technology features, too. This year the Jeep is armed with more safety aids across the lineup. The Jeep begins with a seven-inch display with the option for an 8.4-inch screen. Leather seats and custom accents are added on the top Cherokee trims. The Equinox has a smaller trunk area and less room in the interior. Its materials are less upscale, and its technology is not as refreshed as the Jeep.

Style

With custom accents on most trims, it's hard to beat the Jeep Cherokee's styling options. There are two new trims with their emphases in 2021, too. The Equinox has a more traditional appearance than the Cherokee, and you won't get nearly as many options for a personalized touch.
