 What's New for the 2024 RAM 3500?
The heavy-duty RAM 3500 is a powerful full-size truck that can tackle the most beastly towing and hauling needs. If you are trying to decide between buying the 2023 RAM 3500 and the 2024 version, you need to know about the updates that have recently been made.
The RAM 3500 is primarily unchanged for the new model year, delivering the same excellent features, styling, and power. However, there is one small improvement. The 2024 RAM 3500 now has a tailgate ajar warning, standard across all trim levels.
This truck is available in five trim levels, two bed lengths, and three cab sizes. In addition, it comes with three powertrains. The entry-level powertrain is a 410-horsepower, V8, 6.4-liter gas engine. An optional Cummins turbo-diesel engine is also available and produces 370 horsepower. A high-output version of this turbo-diesel engine puts out 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque.
The exterior of the 2024 RAM 3500 speaks to its powerful capabilities. Its tall, sculpted hood and bold front-end design make a strong statement. The large grille has horizontal accent bars and wraps across most of the nose. Below the grille, the large, wraparound bumper may have tow hooks and fog lights. The rectangular headlights are prominent and have LED accents. The base trim level has a locking tailgate, a tow hitch, and 18-inch steel wheels. The higher RAM 3500 trims could add heated and powered tow mirrors, a soft-opening tailgate, a power-sliding rear window, LED cargo bed lighting, a spray-in bedliner, rain-sensing wipers, 20-inch wheels, power running boards, fifth-wheel equipment, dual rear wheels, a RamBox cargo space, and a few other features.
The 2024 RAM 3500 also comes with quality cabin and safety equipment. Select or all RAM 3500 trim levels offer adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, a wireless smartphone charger, a heated steering wheel, remote engine start, rear parking sensors, an integrated navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a wireless internet hotspot and several others.
